i'll give a brief overview of the project that is next due (march 28) and what is expected, then you two do: *general introduction to program and interface *an example of a work done using after effects, pointing out various tricks and moves visible there *reminder of what after-effects will be used to do and how it is best suited for the project (ie what parts of the program will probably be most useful) *a step-by-step run-through of how to use after effects to create the next project (like jeremy did with formz): start them off with a folder of images (whatever kind but for the real project sources can include: model photographs, model drawings, formz stills, derived images [new vocabulary], new images that making the film seems to require) and show them how to get from these still images to a moving image. you may want to use one of your personal image-sets and talk them through your own thoughts about what you will/can do with them. *demonstrate some cool things you can do with after-effects in this capacity and again, in general *indicate that sound will be part of the film they are making and help prepare them for the sound tutorial on thursday, indicating where they might find sound(s) and how they will integrate sound using after effects (ie show them where the program admits sound and some ways they can think about integrating it) i'll show a few short films and then we're off
