VALUING DIFFERENCE McKeachie's chapter 10 introduces the topic of valuing student differences. Again, the topic of fostering diversity and heterogeneity inside the classroom appears in our readings and I fell like I need to learn more concrete strategies for overcoming stereotypes and promoting student confidence. As an international grad student and teaching assistant sometimes I feel like the stereotyping could also occurs towards the teacher. What kind of activities can teachers develop to promote full participation, diversity, and heterogeneity in institutional and cultural environments where such practices are rare and marginal? is the teacher in risk of being rejected and marginalized?
