Project Expectations
Our team wants to assure that our clients' needs are met. Below is a summary of what the client and the team has agreed to execute in the following months of planning and development to ensure success of the site.

Customer Contact

Currently, the front page of Tutorial Junction says:

". . . Tutorial Junction is a collection of tutorials and instructional materials covering a broad range of computer applications and technologies. The tutorials, prepared by School of Information IT Services staff, are designed to help School of Information
students. . . "

This helps us to define the customer and primary/secondary audience for the project. Our customer for this project will be The School of Information IT Services. More specifically, the people and organization whose primary responsibilities are to maintain and develop the iSchool's Tutorial Junction site.

The primary audiences are students, faculty, and staff in University of Texas at Austin. Secondary audiences include the citizens of the state and the scholars of the nation and the world. Our project will focus mainly on the primary audiences, and providing resources and services to them. There are areas of the site that could be developed to more fully address secondary audiences as well.

To establish and maintain the contact with customer, project team will perform the following activities:

  • Schedule regular meetings and discussions, providing status reports, and gathering feedback from School of Information IT Services staff responsible for Tutorial Junction site.

  • Execute initial survey of the primary and secondary audiences for the site performed online. See the current draft here.

  • Schedule regular meetings of information architecture team to get status updates and project progress.

  • Customer satisfaction survey at the end of the project.

Critical Success Factors

Critical success factors for the project are as follows:

  • Close interaction and frequent feedback from the customer. This
will allow our team to make any necessary course corrections early in the process.

  • Project must be completed on time and fully fulfill the project scope and requirements.

  • The customer must be satisfied with the quality of the deliverables.

  • The team should possess the domain knowledge applicable to
    the Tutorial Junction.

  • The team should meet on the regular basis to update each other
on the milestones status and make necessary corrections to the schedule.
