EcoPack was originally designed to house the increasing population of homeless people. However, the social aspects of the project was abadoned after careful consideration by my co-designer, Ross Powell, and myself to focus more on the design of the EcoPack.
The EcoPack is an "evolution of space" and uses a mixture of Goretex, Ultrex, and Alpaca breathable fibers to insure durability, protection, and low condensation. The lightweight backpack/tent uses innovative inflatable air structures for stability, eliminating the need for bulky pole frames and other heavy framework. With a few minor altercations, the EcoPack tranforms from an lightweight backpack into a comfortable protective shelter with an inflatable bed.
The diagram shows the width, length, and height of the EcoPack as a fully erect tent structure. As a backpack the standard model weighs a mere 2 lbs and has a capacity of 3120 cu. inches. Its dimesions are 34" x 16" x 7". This model should fit the needs of any weekend or day packer.
