the muse

The boxes of Joseph Cornell seem to hold time frozen. Glass cups, paper birds, and blind windows speak of a looping signal. These works articulate the past as a collection of objects, ordered and presented as tangible evidence of what was meaningful.

the project

For this project, a thriftstore suitcase was purchased. It is hard and made of stretched navy blue leather with white edges and brass locks. I inserted a filing and display system, creating the container for a traveling exhibit of signals.

the souvenir

How do you know you have gone and come back?

Material evidence.

The snowglobe contains a moment of landmarks. Romantic in proportion, but silly. All the same, one of my favorite things.
