I told the class about the car accident I was involved with on March 29th, 2002 when a drunk driver named David Medlin ran a red light in his truck at Abrams & Whitehurst (Dallas) going over 100mph. I was not wearing my seat belt. The experience was life-threatening to say the least.
I spoke with Choices magazine (published by Scholastic for high schools across the country) and told them my story a couple of years ago. I just hope that maybe I can make a difference for someone somewhere and help prevent something terrible from happening. I just want to feel like everything I went through in the hospital and the pain I will experience for the rest of my life was not all for waste.
