As
a child I saw the movie Puppet Master and became extremely
frightened of puppets and dolls. When I started to think
of something I could make that would be scary, I went
back to my childhood fear. I found an old robotic hand
that moves the fingers to crawl across the floor and
an old stuffed animal to attach to the hand.
First,
I completely repainted the hand to match to the stuffed
animal I chose. Then I had to attach the hand to the
body of the animal and used simple glue to make it stick.
In order to get the hand to crawl across the floor with
the animal attached, I had to take most of the stuffing
out of the animal so it wasn't too heavy.
The
real fun part to this project was getting the reaction
from my 6 year old sister. As soon as she saw it, she
proclaimed "That's scary!!". My dog also seems
to have grown a dislike to it. Every time the hand starts
to move, she barks and tries to attack the toy.
Sometimes
nightmares come in small packages.
