This website was created to give our new ACTLabbies some resources for when it comes time to start on your projects.

We know it is hard to take theories, discussion and the vieiwing of media; and transform that into a project. Here a couple tips right off the bat!

1. Make sure you come to class- Class is a great place to get ideas, expand on your ideas and help others with their ideas.

2. Come to office hours! We will soooooo help you with your project concept, construction and other details if you show up and ask for help.

3. Keep your project "tight", if you are getting bored with it, it will probaly be boring.

4. Make sure your project is ready to be presented. If you are going to show video, make sure it works on the projector and that it has proper compression. If you use photos, try to scan them in (you can also take a digital picture) so you can put it up on the projector. If you use text in your videos, make sure it is legitable and that you can read it twice in the time allotted. If you are going to do a presentation, practice and make sure you have all the materials needed.

5. Make sure you allot enough time for your preperation, work (i.e. editing, building, practicing) and final product preperation (i.e. your presentation)

6. TAKE RISK's!!! We are always impressed when people take risks, put the stakes higher then one would in a normal class. If you are used to making videos all the time, maybe try a different medium, this is the type of class to branch out and try new things. If you are used to performing, make a video, remember, the TA's are there to help you figure out how to work with new mediums! Try something you never thought you could do in a class, but have always wanted to!
