 A is for Androgyny "Trans" is used to describe a variety of people. One example is androgyny in which a person identifies with neither genders. |
 B is for Butch In fact, people come in all kind of mixes between masculine and feminine, butch or femme. |
 C is for Crossing borders "Trans" means crossing borders.

 D is for Drag Drag kings and queens are extreme examples of border crossing. |
 E is for Estrogen Hormones, such as estrogen or testosterone are an essential part of the physical transformation from one gender to another. |

Everyday, infants are born who do not fall into the strict categories of "male" or "female." Children born with both male and female genitalia are know as hermaphroditic and intersexed. |
 J is for Joan/John. K is for the Kinsey Scale Much research has been done in recent decades to determine the complexities of sex and gender, biology and culture. In the 1950's, Money, with the Hampsons, used the Joan/John example to demonstrate the powerful impact of environment on gender. Gender expression comes in an infinite variety of combinations of "masculine" and "feminine" behaviors as shown with the Kinsey Scale, which measures the "percentage" of homosexual desire in a person. |
