Sure, everyone has the right to express themself, which is exactly my
point. I a) didn't like the film b) didn't like the email that followed
the film. However, I always think it's ironic when someone thinks someone
else shouldn't be allowed to express "offensive" content and then explains
this in a fashion that others might be "offended" by. Personally, I'm not
offended by either, I don't believe in the concept, I was just annoyed by
each. And before we hear from the female filmmaker herself, I think it's
shortsighted to declare that she should go "fuck herself". I didn't see a
lock on the door in class today, Sandy has clearly explained that we will
be challenged in the content of the course, so none of us are in a
position to be victimized by what we're exposed to any more than anyone
else. Personally, I don't enjoy seeing material that depicts men as
monsters (especially in a room full of women). However, it was my choice
to leave if I felt like I was going to be traumatized by the experience,
which I wasn't.
