I worked on finding a friendlier way of offing it for nearly 2hours last
week. It got to the pt where I just said to meself "they wants it off,
i'll shut it off good." But really, this is affecting accessibility
big time.

Methinx the best solution is to turn it on, leave it on, but tell people:
"hey lookie here... we're shutting this service off in x days because it's
dangerous. Please read this actlab.us/ssh.html to understand
how to safely access files. This is the method we'll be using as of x/x/99"
Keep in mind this does admit to a vulnerablity.

I'll try to do as much as I can w/in the next few days to rectify this.
