Jenn! I have a book that would should read! (ok too many exclamation points
sorry). For any of you out there that want to learn more about children and
gender influence there is a really cool book out called School Girls. Its
all about the socialization of young girls (8th graders - eek! puberty!)
thru their school, parents, peers and how it affects their confidence. I
wish someone would have made me read it in jr high. anyway, its called
School Girls and it by Peggy Orenstein. Jenn if you graduated from UT with
a sociology degree you probably read it in sociology of gender, but if you
havent i highly recommend it. Once i started reading it i couldnt put it
down. Anyway, i gotta stop emailing this list so much.
