The purpose of this exhibit is two fold.  I am showcasing my projects for a class and I am demonstrating the design process I used in creating this website.
o allow visitors to the Telling Time exhibition to examine a series of National Gallery paintings, displayed on a computer monitor, and discretely have their eye movements recorded as they do this. After someone has examined several paintings then their patterns of visual search on these paintings will be displayed publicly so that both they, and other visitors, can see where they looked in the paintings.
The actual paintings that are examined will be changed on a regular basis so that, over the course of the exhibition, a large quantity of data will be collected on many paintings.

The exhibit will be very informative both to those who participate and also to other Gallery visitors. At the same time data from the people who take part will be recorded to provide important new scientific information on how a range of people examine paintings. It is not known just how many people will take part in this study but this web site will provide regular updates.
