i have had issues in the past with skateboarding.
as you can see.  i got an idea a while ago when i was reading up on some longboarding equipment.  gravity skateboards manufactures a custom speedometer for certain boards of theirs, as seen here .  i thought it was a great idea, but i had a few issues with it:

1 - costs a lot
2 - installed by factory only
3 - only available on certain boards
4 - no apparent visibility at night
5 - perhaps most importantly, who has time/attention/skill/etc. to look down and read a speedometer when cruising down a hill?

i needed a better solution.  i liked the idea of being able to tell how fast you're going, but it seemed like it would get me in more trouble than it would keep me out of trying to read a small display while bombing a hill.  i needed something more visual.  additionally, i wanted to take this a step further, and incorporate some type of indication for the skateboard's angle relative to flat-land.  an idea was born.
