Purpose

I chose this project for many different reasons:
1) I wanted to do something that would build on the project I presented half-way through the semester. However, since my presentation on the extraterestial body was so far-fetched, it would have been difficult to continue where I left and still have my project rooted in scientific fact.
2) I wanted to address some of the properties of astro-physics that seem obscure and mathmatical, but are applicable to everyday life. The law of convservation of energy is a well known principal, but rarely thought of in a philisophical sense.
3) I wanted to explore more outlandish theories that have yet to be proven or disproven. For example, the connection between energy and life is a very old idea, but one that is not widely excepted in the scientific community.
4) I wanted to do something more serious. I have been a stand-up comedien for the last 2 years, and comedy is something that personaly I have explored at great length. I felt that to truely push myself, I would need to do something with a little more weighty subject matter. While I formatted the project as a satire on documentries, the monologue and imagery was of a more serious nature.
5) I felt the some of the imagery, specifically the last scene, would aid me on concquering certain personal fears. That was also something I took into consideration when I undertook this project.
6) I wanted to take this opportunity to portray where I am in my life right now. The amount of confusion expressed by the narrator is a good representation of how I see the world around me, and how much my interest in astornomical theory disrupts my life. (In a enlightening way)
