WEIRD

In a way, I spent most of the semester trying to come up with this project. It had been a goal of mine since the beginning of the semester to figure out a way to visualize the fourth dimension, time.My theory works like this: right now, the way we percieve depth is by utilizing two two-dimensional recepticonators (our eyes) set apart in 3-D space. When our brain's visualometer valves combine these two 2-dimesional images, the discrepencies between the two is processed by some sort of brainputer to be percieved as depth. So a quick and dirty way to fool this brainputer into seeing time is to separate the two images in 4-D space, so that the recepticonators are taking in two images separated by time rather than space. There are two ways to do this: One is to remove one eye from the skull and put it in a centrifuge rotating at near the speed of light, thus having one eye see the present, and the other seeing time slowed down. The other way is to take a movie clip, superimpose the clip on top of itself, dye one red and one blue, and adjust one clip a few milliseconds into the future. Then, when you watch the clip with specially designed glasses, you'll be seeing the present and the future at the same time.

The second method was much cheaper, resulting in the movie you can watch by clicking on the picture to the right. The glasses needed to view it are sold at Toy Joy for two dollars.

Enjoy.
