Project 3: I applied all three concepts to the third project except instead of a 8X10 I used a apporx. 25X16 canvas. I also used oil paints which is foreign to me. I am so used to making smaller portraits that this was really hard for me. I am still currently working on this project. I don't know if I will ever be done. It is a picture of the Virgin Mary that I feel has no direction. While the class implicated that I should go in a more negative direction as a statement of contridiction of the church. I don't believe that the statement of my picture is negative.

The Virgin Mary has played a major part in my life and even though I am not a practicing catholic I still hold her in high reverance. I would rather have a more natrual approach and feel I should experiment in adding natrual elements to the portrait such as leaves or even small mundane objects. I suggested this to the class and they seemed disinterested.
