The Teresa McPike Perspective
noun
1. The act of dying; termination of life.
2. The state of being dead.
3. The cause or manner of dying.
4. A personification of the destroyer of life.
5. The termination or extinction of something.
What exactly does "death" mean? Even the clean cut definition above still leaves the question unanswered. No distinct terms
seem appropriate enough. Death seems to exist both as a concept and event, treated at times with great respect and pondering
while also viewed in instances as spectacle and cause for humor. With each culture begetting its own definitions and each
person concocting his or her own explanation, no one true meaning can be assessed. Is death an end? Is death a beginning? Is
death the transition in between the two? I claim no precise stand, but only offer a few of my own varied ideas.
