We are set for a future that has already been
mentally created, as our expectations are processed through
an approaching reality. Questions of where we are headed, how
far have we reached, and are we on track, arise as each day
brings us closer. We may treat the ride as a journey, but the
question of destination is an insecurity that has been socialized
into the most of us.
My project “the prospect” is an expression of looking
ahead after a treatment of reflection. As the future closes
in, it becomes harder to see as one trades their dreams for
the inertia of facts. As a graduate student at the Department
of Advertising, I came here with a simple goal, to extend my
knowledge, earn a degree and find a job. With a dwindling economy,
my goals are forcibly constricted and are constantly in question.
This project lies on the platform of the treatment of my reflections
for the past year as a student and what the prospect is from
my current standing position.
