Six Flags Over Texas in Arlington
I wrote a seven page proposal to the Six Flags Over Texas Corporation to have my own lion dance street show for their summer season of Cirque Dreams presents Coobrila. I performed, managed, cast, and choreographed my own streetmosphere show for 13 hours each day, working 79 days straight from June 16th to August 19th 2007. In addition, supervised 30 other street performers.
I have been lion dancing for over 15 years for corporate events, Autumn Moon Festivals, Lunar New Years festivals.
I'm also versatile in Northern, Southern, and Hok San (Maylasian) styles of Lion Dance.
Currently designing a rogue/modern lion dance to further develop the characterization of the lion and the dancing Buddha to define meaning and purpose in all aspects of the performance.
I personally think lion dancing is an under developed form of art that follows traditional methods of mindless movements parading aimlessly in senseless directions.
