In the spring of 2006, I was cast into a show call Toshiko Namioka's Hall of Spirits, which was part of Jose Bustemantes Dance Works. Namioka is an internationally well known Japanese modern dancer and is regarded as the "Martha Graham" of her art. In the 1984 Olympics, she choreographed the opening ceremony in Calgari.

Toshiko's Namioka's Hall of Spirits
Director/Choreographer: Toshiko Namioka
Producer: Marsha Mann
Cast: Toshiko Namioka, Jessica Rousello, Julia Childs, & Jason Nguyen
Music Composer: Kurt Nebel
Namioka's personal friend Marsha Mann found me performing lion dance at an Asian Culture event. Both Namioka and Mann were looking for someone muscularly built and willing to perform Gun Do Yo, Japanese Modern Dancing, for her show. Namioka trained me and I was the male lead spirit dancer for her show.
It was an honor to have worked with her and I wish to work her in the near future.
