This project also started out as a different idea in my head. At first I wrote out a duet for two violins but when I listened to the First Violin part I decided to just use that music. Here is the sheet music for the First Violin part. I recorded everything in my friend Juice's house, he has a studio in one of his rooms which has all of the recording materials and anything else needed to make beautiful music. After I recorded the violin part, with a KSM 141 mike, I felt it wasn't enough on its own and needed something extra. As we were thinking it began to rain hard outside of the window. I had the idea of incorporating the rain into the song so we set up a KSM 141 mike near the window and recorded the rain for a little while and luckily got some thunder recorded. We recorded the rain and the violin part into a program called CubaseSX. The recording still didn't sound full so we decided to put in a little bit of organ and piano. Like I told you before Juice has all of the equipment needed to record including almost every instrument you can think of. There was a piano that could be changed to sound like an organ or a piano. Adding the Organ gave the song a pirate theme which was very refreshing. The rain also added to the pirate on the ocean feeling. The piano is only in the song for a short period of time but brings a whole new level to the song. In the silence we added the piano which I felt fit perfectly. We were almost complete with the song when Juice decided to add an extra little something into the song. In the program CubaseSX, there is a sound that adapts to the violin part and sounds like dolphins echoing in the same tone as the music. This gave the piece an eerie aquatic sound that I thought completed it. By the end of it I was extremely happy with the outcome. So here for your enjoyment is my first attempt at creating music.
